May I approach the bench?
Your Honor, I wish
to make a statement.
I ask You only for time
to argue and plead
my case completely,
and for a fair judge
to hear my plea.
For while they say
that justice is blind,
I hope that You will see
my motives much more clearly
than I could ever hope
to witness Yours.
